ITINERARY
Day 1 Arrival – Hanoi (None)
Upon arrival Noi Bai airport, you are met and transferred to your hotel. Then you are free. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2 Hanoi – city tour (B/-/-)
Your private Vietnam holiday starts after breakfast at hotel, followed by a full day city tour starting with the Ho Chi Minh Complex, containing the mausoleum of the nation’s founder Ho Chi Minh, the Presidential Palace, Ho Chi Minh’s house on stilts. Close to this site is the One Pillar Pagoda, whose origin dates back to the foundation of Hanoi a thousand years ago. Your tour of Hanoi continues with a trip to the remarkable Temple of Literature, well known as Vietnam’s first university. After lunch, you’ll enjoy the always impressive Ethnology Museum dedicated to Vietnam’s 54 ethnic groups. You’ll then continue to the peaceful lake of Hoan Kiem. In front of this lake is the famous Water Puppet Theatre where you’ll see a fantastic performance. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3 Hanoi – Halong (B/L/D)
After an early breakfast you start with a transfer out to the internationally famous and stunningly beautiful Halong Bay, made world famous by James Bond in Tomorrow Never Dies. Arriving just before lunch, you’ll embark on a traditional Vietnamese junk. Take lunch on board and enjoy the afternoon and overnight cruise as it provides you with fantastic views of the fabulous scenery blending with the sky and some 3,000 limestone islands which amazingly rise from the clear and emerald water. The limestone karst formations are littered with beaches, grottoes and beautiful caves, some of which you’ll visit. Overnight on board in Halong Bay.

Day 4 Halong – Hanoi – Lao Cai (B/Brunch/-)
The tour continues with a morning spent cruising on to the Man’s Head, Tortoise islands and then Luon Cave by small bamboo boat. After an brunch check out and continue to travel though Bai Tu Long to Bai Chay for disembark, meet the driver and guide to transfer you back to Hanoi. There is some free time for your own exploration in Hanoi until we transfer to Railway station to take overnight train to Lao Cai. Overnight in the train to Lao Cai.

Day 5 Lao Cai – Sapa (B/-/-)
The train arrives at around 6AM after which you’ll be transferred by private car to Sapa, one and a half hours away. At an elevation of 1,500 meters, Sapa was once a hill resort of French administrators when the summer heat became unbearable. Getting to meet the ethnic minority people is a highlight of visiting Sapa, although their living conditions are basic. After settling into your hotel you will take a soft trek to Cat Cat village about 3 kilometres away from town take you about 3 hours walking to visit H’Mong minority people who first lived in Vietnam in the 17th & 18th centuries, then you’ll walk to Ham Rong mountain about 2 hours for a fabulous overview of Sapa town. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 6 Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B/-/-)
After breakfast at hotel this morning group will check out and continues to visit a tribe market where is open at certain day of the week only Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday or Sunday all depend on your travel day. At these market many minority groups like Flower H’mong, Black Zao, Zay…come to trade for their weekly plan
After lunch, you drive downhill for about half an hour. You will then start a short walk to Trung Do village, which belongs to the Tay minority. Here you can stop by a traditional Tay house for a cup of tea before you get on a boat. You will have a cruise downstream the Chay River to experience the picturesque scenes and the magnificent sight of a beautiful cave. The boat ride ends at Bao Nhai bridge, where you get on the car for the journey back to Lao Cai for overnight train return Hanoi.

Day 7 Hanoi – Ninh Binh (B/-/-)
After arriving on the train from Hanoi to Ninh Binh traveling. But first you will visit Hoa Lu, the first capital of Vietnam. In the area can still be found the remains of the citadel covering more than 300 ha, are within these walls still remains of several temples built in different times. The Dinh Tien Hoang temple dates from the 11th century and is dedicated to Emperor Dinh Tien Hoang, the temple is guarded by many stone carved mythological animals. In the afternoon you take a trip by sampan through this wetland area, it gives you a good impression of the diversity and richness of the fauna and flora which Vietnam is rich, visit the Tam Coc caves! Transfer to Ninh Binh for overnight.

Day 8 Ninh Binh – Mai Chau (B/-/D)
After breakfast, drive to Kenh Ga, a floating village where locals mainly live in the water and work. With a sampan you cruise through the area also known as the Halong Bay is known of the interior, because here you can admire limestone peaks that rise up steeply from the landscape. Afterwards keeps you stop at Mai Chau, en route stops you in local villages. The area around Mai Chau is said to be the birthplace of the Vietnamese real, it’s simple and yet very authentic.

Day 9 Mai Chau – Hanoi (B/-/-)
In the morning you can see how the ethnic minorities still live in traditional stilt houses and are famous for their beautifully embroidered clothing and traditional music and dance. Then it’s time again to drive to Hanoi, where you arrive around 18 hours.

There is some free time for your own exploration in Hanoi until we transfer to airport for your flight departure. The trip ends.
