Overland Phnom Penh to Siem Reap
Day 1: Arrival Phnom Penh
Upon arrival at Phnom Penh International Airport, met and transfer to city centre to start your trip visit Phnom Penh. Your private tour visit the Royal Palace, built by King Norodom in 1866 on the site of the old town, and the Silver Pagoda, Located within the grounds of the Royal Palace, the Silver Pagoda is so named because of its floor, which is made up of 5000 silver tiles. Then continue your visit at Wat Phnom Temple, a small hill crowned by an active Wat (Pagoda) marks the legendary founding place of the Phnom Penh. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 2: Phnom Penh (Breakfast at hotel)
Our private tour continue today with Killing Fields ” Choeung Ek” 15km southwest of Phnom Penh. This one is the site of brutal executions of more than 17,000 individuals, most of whom first suffered. through interrogations, torture and deprivation in Toul Sleng Prison during Pol Pot regime (From 1975–1979). Continue your visit to Tuol Sleng Genocide Museum (S21 prison). This prison was a high school, and used as a prison by Pol Pot’s security forces and became the largest center for detention and torture during the rule of the Khmer Rouge. Visit Russian Market (Psah Tuol Thom Pong), a lively outdoor market where you will find antiquities, silver and gold jewelry, gems, silk, kramas, stone and wood carvings, as well as T-Shirts, CDs and other souvenirs. Overnight in Phnom Penh.
Day 3: Phnom Penh – Kampong Cham – Kampongthom – Siem Reap (Breakfast at hotel)
After breakfast, we have a full day drive to Phnom Penh via Kampongcham and Kampong Thom through out the palm forest as well as more understanding the history of Cambodia with temple Wat Nokhor, Wat Kohear Nokor and Phnom Prasat. Overnight in Siem Reap.
Day 4: Angkor Tours (Breakfast at hotel, Dinner at local restaurant with traditional dance)
Today we continue exploring the wondrous ancient ruins with the South Gate of Angkor Thom, which is famous for its series of colossal human faces carved in stone, the impressive Bayon Temple, the Royal Enclosure, Phimeanakas, the Elephant Terrace, the Terrace of the Leper King. Today we also visit other temples as Banteay Kdei, Sra Srong, Ta Keo, Thommanon and Chau Say Tevado. The grand circuit with Preah Khan, Kravan, Neak Pean, Krol Ko, Ta Som, East Mebon and Pre Rup Temples, is also visited this afternoon before we walk up to Phnom Bakheng Hill for a view of the spectacular sunset over these sandstone monuments, overview of Angkor Wat under sun setting from Bakheng Hills. Overnight at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 5: Angkor Tours (Breakfast at hotel)
This morning we will visit the largest complex and impressive sand stone art here Angkor Wat. The temple constructed in the 12th century cover an area of about 210 hectares. We stroll around this massive structure, seeing the many galleries with columns, libraries, pavilions, courtyards and ponds full of water reflecting the towering temple. Continue our private tour in Siem Reap we visit incredible Ta Prohm temple settle among of enormous fig trees and gigantic creepers which embrace themselves in the stone foundations of the structure giving the impression of mans creation being reclaimed by the powerful forces of nature. Over night at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 6: Angkor Tours with Bantaey Srei (Breakfast at hotel)
Heading out of the town we drive on a newly paved road about 2 hours past the Preah Dark village to the intricately carved and well preserved temple of Banteay Srei. After seeing this beautiful landmark we continue driving through the rugged mountain scenery to Kbal Spean, known as the River of 1000 Lingas. A view over the riverbed carvings is impressive. The next stop of our trip is Banteay Srei we continue to the Banteay Samre Temple which is adorned with impressive reliefs depicting scenes of Vishunu as well as Krishna legends. Over night at hotel in Siem Reap.
Day 7: Tonle Sap lake & departure (Breakfast at hotel)
We embark to visiting the Khmer Village and enjoy view of the rice field and a lots of palm trees with great fresh air. We board on boat in Tonle Sap Lake, the “Great Lake” of Cambodia, one of the largest in Asia. Here, enjoy a brief cruise past floating villages complete with schools, restaurants, and hospitals then transfer to airport for departure. Trip ends when group arrive at airport.
