Tour itinerary

Day 01: Bangkok – Nakorn Rachasima (Khaoyai National Park) (L)

After breakfast, 08.30am: our guide will pick up you from the hotel and drive straight to Khaoyai National Park (World Heritage). After arrived, then trekking along the jungle to visit “Heaw Narok Waterfall” and Heaw Suwat Waterfall,the most famous in the park. Then continue drive pass to stop at Pa Diew Dai and Pa Tom Chai has most beautiful scenery view of the park for enjoying taking some photos. And next go to do parking our car and walk along the trail about 200 meters to Mor Singto Animal Observation House where the place was built by the US army in the past. After that walk back to the car and getting on our car for driving to Krua Kam Pan Thai Restaurant for lunch and after lunch, we will do digestion by continue our trip to Nong Pakchee Animal Observation House and Saisin Dam by walking about 800 meters from the parking point. Then return to the hotel and check in and relax on your own time until 18.30pm: we will go to see the night safari tour from 19.00pm – 20.00pm. Then return to your hotel after the night safari tour.

Day 02: Korat or Nakorn Rachasima – Buriram (B/L)

After breakfast, drive up along the Mittraphap road and pass the scenery beautiful Lamtraklong Dam and then stop at Korat Fossil Museum to see petrified woods and ancient elephant museum. After that, drive continue into the down town and pass Thao Suranari Monument and next to Phimai Historical Park The most magnificent castle in Thailand is located at Amphur Phimai, Nakornratchasima where the castle is believed to have been be built more than 1,000 years ago by an ancient tribe that is said to have contact with the Khmer Kingdom. Phimai Historical Park was created in the 16 BE. And then visit Sai Ngam, where there are big banyan trees around the bank of the Moon River before we are having at a local restaurant. The lunch will be eating with Korat noodle (Kua Mee) is made from rice. The noodle is thin and soft. Eat with Som Tum Korat. After lunch, we are driving ahead to Phanom Rung Historical Park where is one of Thailand’s most amazing Khmer architecture site, aged over a thousand years old. Built on an extinct volcano, it was originally a Hindu religious site and later became a Buddhist one. Several additions were made during the 15th-18th Buddhist century. And before end of the day, we’ll visit Prasat Muang Tam is located in the Prakorn Chai district of Buriram Province. It is located 8 Kilometers

from Prasat Phnom Rung. It is a Hindu religious monument It was constructed for the Hindu god Shiva. It was built to hold religious ceremonies for the surrounding community Archaeological studies have found that communities surrounded Prasat Muang Tam. For example Ban Kok Muang, Kok Yai Khan,Kok Salongthong, ect. Artifacts found include ancient tools and household wares, for example clay bowls and a large amount of pottery. Later on, drive to hotel and check in and then free on your own leisure.

Day 03: Buriram – Surin (B/L)
After breakfast, we are driving up to Surin downtown and pass the Phaya Surin Pakdee Srinarong Jangwang monument is dedicated to the first Surin town lord, Phraya Surin Phakdi Si Narong Changwang. The antique brass statue is 2.2 meters tall, and holds a curved blade pike in his right hand, a symbol of the lord’s excellent talent in controlling war elephants, as well as Surin’s plentiful elephants since ancient times.  And drive continue to Tambon Tha Sawang, this village is widely recognized for utilizing looms with over a hundred heddles to weave gold brocade silk of the highest quality, offered to Her Majesty the Queen as well as previous royal courts. Since its founding, the village has also been tasked with weaving fabric for 21 APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Co-operation) country leaders in 2003. After that, we will visit Ban Ta Klang Elephant Village are of the Suay ethnic minority. They are skilled in capturing, training and raising Asian elephants, a national Thai symbol. Unlike in northern Thailand where elephants are kept for labor, locals consider elephants their companions, and often share their homes with them. Visitors to the village can observe the way of life of the Suay people, or speak with veteran elephant specialists. Often, the sluggish local economy drives elephants and their mahouts to work outside the village. Rice paddies and forests, good elephant habitats, surround the village. The village also has an elephant museum which features exhibition regarding village history and tools for capturing elephants. Visitors can enjoy elephant rides in the afternoon to the Mun River, and watch elephant bathing at twilight at Wang Thalu. We’ll stop for lunch at a local restaurant before heading to Srikhorphum Castle. It is set of Khmer ruins comprises five pagodas built on the same base. Each is about 30 meters tall. Designs adorn the door columns and lintels. The site was built around the late 11th century. End of the day, we are transfer to hotel and stay in Surin province. Check in and relax on your own leisure.

Day 04: Surin – Si Sa Ket – Ubon Rachathani (B/L)
After breakfast, depart for Si Sa Ket and heading to Kantharalak district to visit Ban Sam Ta Rom Rambutan and Durian Orchard is at Trakat subdistrict, Sisaket province. It is located 60 kilometers away from downtown. The orchard grows a large number of fruits, including rambutan, durian, longkong, mangosteen, mango and pomelo. The products also cover shallot, garlic, pakria and rubber.  It is recognized as one of Sisaket’s highly successful agricultural farm and orchard. And then move to Khao Phraviharn Sanctuary. It is s top of the Phanom Dong Rak mountain ranges sits Khao Phra Viharn (Preah Vihear) Sanctuary which is located at Ban Phum Srol, Sao Thong Chai subdistrict, Kantharalak district, Sisaket province. Such area is the overlapping border between Thailand and Cambodia. In the past, it was possible to access Khao Phra Viharn from Thailand, but after a lengthy territorial dispute between Thailand and Cambodia over ownership, any access from Thailand has been restricted and visitors are required to get there via Cambodia. Lunch will be stopping at a local restaurant. After that drive ahead to Ubon Ratchathani province, before end of this day to Ban Yang Noi Arts and Crafts Center, it was founded in 1996, according to the idea of Queen Sirikit. She wanted Ban Yang Noi to develop into an important place for hiring and to be able to increase the income of the villagers both in Ban Yang Noi and in the vicinity, so that the villagers would not have to emigrate and sell their labor outside their community. Inside this arts and crafts center, there are a lot of tourist attractions worth visiting and studying; for example, Model farm for the new theory is the various types of agricultural experimental area for the new theory, such as the cultivation of herbs and chemical-free vegetables, the cultivation of mulberries as silk worm’s feed, the silk production with the quality as good as the Royal Thai Silk and with the granted mark of gold peacock, and the mixing of blended brown rice for enhancing immunity, etc. The tourists will gain knowledge as well as entertainment from these agricultural experiments. We will visit Wat Pa Naphong where is located in Ban Phong Sawang, Non Phueng Sub-district, Warin Chamrap District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. It is a shady and peaceful temple, which is suitable for studying Buddha’s teaching and doing meditation. Besides, Wat Nong Pa Phong is the prototype of over 100 forest temples in Thailand and many of them abroad and also museum of the temple can be found here. Later on, drive straight to Ubon Ratchanthani downtown. Check in at hotel and leisure on your own time afterwards.

Day 05: Ubon Ratchani Tours (B/L)
After breakfast, before departing from Ubon Ratchathani downtown, we are taking you to visit Ubon local Morning Fresh market is the bank of the Moon River.  After that, continue to Wat Thung Si Mueang was constructed during the reign of King Rama III (1824-1851) to houses a replica of Buddha’s footprint. Aside from that, the most beautiful structure in the temple is perhaps the wooden Tripitaka Library (Ho Trai) that was designed to sit on the stilts in the middle of the pool to prevent the materials from insects (ants and termites). The architecture here is a mixture of Laos and Rattankosin styles (Rattanakosin refers to the era after 1782, when Bangkok was the capital of Thailand). Next to the Tripitaka Library is the Ho Phra Buddha Bot and the Wihan (ordination hall). And then followed by visiting to Pha Taem National Park where is Thailand first Sunrise spot and this National Park features the plateaus, hills, deciduous dipterocarp forest, sheer cliffs resulted from the earthquakes, irregular shaped of sandstone which scattered around and the beautiful wild flowers growing among the rocky ground. Highlight of the Park are Pha Taem and Pha Kam which located near the National park headquarters. Surface of the cliffs are filled with numerous prehistoric cave paintings dated back 3,000-4,000 years ago that explores the traditional way of life of people who once lived here during the prehistoric days. After having fun time with photos taking at the park, and then we are going to have our lunch at Khong Jiam Floating Restaurant on the Great Maekhong River, where you can sit and see the view of Laos’s mountains.

After lunch, then transfer to hotel. Check in and relax on your own time afterwards.

Day 06: Ubon Ratchathani – Amnat Charoen – Yasothorn – Roi Et (B/L)

After breakfast, depart for Sam Phan Bok The word “Bok” in Laotian means basin which is why this area is now called “Sam Phan Bok”(sam phan is three thousand in Thai).

Also nearby is a place known to the locals as the “Mekong Grand Canyon”. It is a rock cliff that was carved through thousands of years of erosion from streams above it creating the astonishing natural phenomenon. It is a large channel 3-7 m high and 20 m wide. After that, moving to Amnat Charoen province to visit Buddha Utthayan and Pra mongkol Ming Mueang where it is well-known Buddha image is housed in Dan Phra Bat Temple. The Buddhist sanctuary stands amidst a lush forest, with the statue depicted in subduing Mara (demons) and decorated with golden mosaics. The 20-meter-tall image was created in the northern Indian style in 1965, and is considered the most sacred image in the entire province. The temple also holds a respected Buddha statue called Pa La Hai, coincidentally discovered in the pond in 1962 when the temple was under renovation. It is believed that this Buddha image brings good fortune to worshippers. After that, we are driving to Yasothorn province and stop at Phaya Thaen Public Park, according to the beliefs of the often drought-stricken Northeastern (Isan) region, a deity named Phaya Thaen controls the rain. As such, each May, rockets and fireworks are launched to please the deity. The park is surrounded by a winding stream and comprises a beautiful garden, outdoor stage, playground and health park. Fairs and festivals are also held here, including the previously mentioned Annual Rocket Festival, the annual boat race, and the water festival (Songkran). Lunch will be stopping at a local restaurant. After lunch, visiting to Phra That Kong Khao Noi is an ancient stupa or Chedi, a structure that enshrines holy Buddhist relics. Built during the 18th-20th century in the late Ayutthaya period, the small, square brick pagoda has a distinctive spire. The middle part of the structure is ornamented with decorative doors on all four sides. A brick wall surrounds the pagoda. A sacred Buddha image is also located behind the pagoda. Legend has it that it was built by a young farmer who was repentant after murdering his mother. In a tale that aims to teach forbearance, it is said that the young farmer grew irate when a lunchbox packed by his mother seemed to have a tiny amount of rice. Furious, he killed his mother. It was only when he discovered that there was in fact so much rice he could not finish his lunch, as it was packed tightly, that he realized his folly. And next is visiting to Ban Si Than is a village where local Thai-style pillows called Khit pillows are crafted. After harvest season is over, farmers with little else to do take on the production of these rectangular and triangular pillows. Yasothon is famed for these pillows, which are adorned with beautiful traditional patterns. The craft also gives farmers an opportunity to earn more during the agricultural off-season. And then we are continuing on our trip to Roi Et province to visit The Mueang Roi Et Municipality Aquarium has two buildings, the first comprising an auditorium, lecture rooms, exhibition rooms, offices, a ticket booth and a souvenir shop. The second features an aquarium with 24 small tanks and one 16-meter-long tank with a capacity of 400 cubic meters of water. A “bio-filter” system keeps the massive freshwater fish tank clean and habitable. The must-see highlight of the aquarium is its underwater glass tunnel, which allows guests to view the marine environment from beneath. After that, we are transferring to hotel. Check in and relax on your own time afterwards.

Overnight in Roi Et province.

Day 07: Roi Et – Mahasarakam (B/L)

After breakfast, we are still continuing to visit Roi Et pronce before going to other province. This morning, we will visit Prang Ku, or Prasat Nong Ku, is a complex of Khmer-style religious ruins that once served as a hospice and medical facility originating from the 12th-13th century. Its layout resembles an “Arogayasala” (which means hospital) – and comprises a main Prang (spire), a library, wall and entrance pavilions, and a pond outside of the walls. The ruins are in good condition, especially the roof structure of the main Prang. And then next is visiting to Thung Kula Rong Hai has

spanning over 800,000 acres and five provinces, this dry area (Thung in Thai) is mostly contained within Roi Et province. According to legend, the ethnic minority Kula people were nomadic traders known for their strength and determination. However, they experienced such hardship in attempts to traverse this area due to the arid conditions, that even they cried (Ronghai in Thai). During the dry season, the land is parched and cracked.  And the last of Roi Et is vising to Ban Wai Luem at Maba sub-district, Thawat Buri district, Roi Et province on the Roi Et-Yasothon route at kilometer markers 145-145 is a famous silk weaving village under the OTOP project at the provincial and national levels. Additionally, it is a center of selling local handicrafts such as cotton bags, ready-made clothes, etc. Then stop for having lunch at a local restaurant before departing for Maharakam province and make a stop to visit Ban Isan Museum is another interesting place that shows the way of life of the Isan people. It is located a short way from Phra That Na Dun. The museum is a research project of Maha Sarakham University. It comprises model houses of the various tribes in the region and there are exhibitions displaying household items. Before transfer to your hotel, we will stop at Khong Kut Wai Fish Sanctuary. This lake and fish sanctuary is home to over 100 species of freshwater fish. Visitors often come to pass afternoons feeding the fish and resting by the lake.

Overnight in Mahasarakam province

Day 08: Mahasarakam – Khon Kaen (B/L)

After breakfast, today, we are still keeping visit some interesting places in Mahasarakam province. We’ll morning start with Walai Rukhavej Botanical Research Institute, located east of Phra That Na Dun (the Buddhist Park of the Northeast), this institute researches the conservation and distribution of flora in the region. It also conducts studies to improve local plant species. Inside are a bamboo garden, herb garden and an Isan (Northeastern) Cart Museum. Moreover, the Isan Traditional House Museum gives visitors a chance to explore the typical homes of the ethnic minority Phu Thai people, of local fishermen, musicians, doctors and weavers. And then next is visiting to Kosamphi Forest Park was established in 1976 and covers 50 acres of tree-shaded land. The park is home to different types of large trees such as Yang (rubber trees), Thai crape myrtle (Lagerstroemia floribunda) and Kadam (Anthocephaluschinensis), their branches creating a continuous canopy. A natural pond completes the beautiful surroundings. Lastly, visiting to Ban Phaeng is the name of an old village founded in 1823 or 191 years ago. It is famous for top-notch reed mats purchase it for your souvenirs. Lunch at a local restaurant before driving ahead to Khon Kaen province and visit to Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakorn or the 9-storey Stupa is located in Wat Nong Waeng, a royal temple on Klang Mueang Road, where the relics of Lord Buddha and important Buddhist scriptures are located. Doors and windows of the 9-storey Stupa are beautifully craved the former reincarnations of the Lord Buddha, 16 classes of visible deities in the Brahmas world, and Buddhist rites while the history of the town are painted on the wall. On the top floor, where the Lord Buddha’s relics are located, is where the visitors can also enjoy the beautiful panoramic view of the city. And one more place before we are dropping off at hotel. It is Buffalo Conservation Village where the villagers have kept and took care a lot of water buffaloes until it was honored as the centre of develops and conserved Thai water buffalo which is now supported by the provincial livestock offices. Drop off at hotel. Check in and relax on your own time afterwards.

Evening time recommend you visit Laeng Market is a night market along a street in Kam Hai Village, near Nong Khot Lake. It stretches, from one end to the other, over two kilometres.  It is open from about 16:30 until around 20:00. As you walk through the market, you will see numerous stalls along both sides of the street. Goods sold here include a wide range of savoury dishes and desserts, local dishes, Khao Kaeng, both fresh and dried fish and frog and clothes

Overnight in Khon Kaen province

Day 09: Khon Kaen – Kalasin (B/L)

After breakfast, we are visiting to Baan Kok Sanga King Cobra Village In 1951, the local doctor Ken Yongla was the first who introduced the Cobra show to Ban Khok Sa-nga which draws a lot of people to the village. But with the dangerous fact that the cobra can spit its poison for two meters and caused blindness, Doctor Ken decided to conduct the show with teaching the specific skills to the villagers. The inheritance knowledge makes the village still famous from this cobra show until present which the villagers will organize after the harvest season aside from selling the local made herbal medicines. In the village, the snake show will be held at Wat Si Thamma consisting of different demonstrations include a snake dancing and snake boxing while King Cobra show historical exhibition and nursery are located nearby.  And continue to Kalasin province and stop at Ban Lung Plueang Chairatsami or Khru Plueang, located in Baan Phontong, Tambol Phontong, Amphur Muaeng, Kalasin Province is an Isan folk musical prodigy whose talent is an ability to play and teach almost every kind of Northeastern folk musical instruments, including lute (phin), reed mouth-organ (can), log xylophone (pong lang) and etc. He is considered an expert particularly in “pong lang” because he has spent the total duration of 40 years studying, modifying and improving the indigenous musical instrument. It was developed from “kroa lo” or a tube of bamboo typically used to scare birds or crows in paddy fields, until it was eventually transformed into “pong lang” a musical instrument with a clear and sweet sound. Pong lang gives a sense of authentic Isan, so it gained popularity and is regarded as Isan’s iconic musical instrument equivalent to “reed mouth-organ”. Khru Plueang was declared a national artist in the field of performing art (folk music) in 1986. We are having lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, visiting to Ban Phon Phrae Wa Silk Weaving Group, located in Baan Phon, Amphur Kammuang, this weaving center is renowned for its beautiful hand-woven silks, which are unique to the northeastern Phu Thai minority. The fabrics are made of Mat Mi silk, and boast exemplary workmanship. There are two main patterns: Lai Lak (principal pattern) and Lai Thaep (stripes). And followed by Phu Por Buddhist Palace, it is located at Tambol Phu Por, Amphur Muang Kalasin around 28 kilometers to the north of the Kalasin city. It is where the 2 ancient reclining Buddha statues built in the Dvaravadee Kingdom is located. Both statues are the beloved ones of the Kalasin people and nearby provinces. The first statue is located on the foothills on the ascent. The second statue is located on Phu Por. Apart from being the location of both Buddha statues, Phu Por also has beautiful nature suitable for relaxation. We’ll end this day on visiting to Phu Faek Forest Park (Dinosaur Footprints), the Phu Faek Forest Park is home to rolling hills and a lush deciduous dipterocarp forest. Large trees such as the Makha (Afzeliaxylocarpa), Taengwood Balau and Red Meranti fill the forest, and squirrels, tree shrews, civets and hares also call it home.

In November 1996, a family noticed strange footprints in the middle of a rock terrace at a ravine near Phu Faek foothill. They later informed geologists who came to survey the site. There, they discovered seven footprints belonging to carnivorous dinosaurs, believed to have been alive 140 million years ago. At present, only four footprints can be seen clearly. Then drop off at hotel nearby the Lam Pao river bank.

Overnight in Kalasin province

Day 10: Kalasin – Mukdahan – Sakon Nakorn (B/L)

After breakfast, we’re departing for Morana Sakkee Catholic Center, Wat Songkhon, Wat Ban Song Khon is a Catholic Church. It is the largest and most beautiful Catholic Church in Southeast Asia. The church was constructed in honor of the 7 Christian Martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect their religion. The 7 martyrs along with their ashes inside wax figures are displayed in the rear of the Church. Then continue to Cultural Village is located at Baan Phu. It is a village that is supported to drive the sustainable living. Baan Phu Village is a village of the Phu Thai people that evacuated from the left bank of Mekong River in 1844 and settled down here for more than 130 years. And next is visiting to Klong Mahorathuk is a 3000 year old drum, an ancient artifact of the Kha and Khmer people. It was discovered in 1938 on the Mekong banks at Ban Na Tham in Laos. The drum is a single sided bronze drum with an 86 cm diameter and 90 meters in length, designed with a sunrise drum face and decorated with 4 frogs on the case. The drums are housed at Matchimawat Temple commonly known to locals as Wat Klang. Lunch will be served by Vietnamese foods at The 5 Junction Vietnamese Communities is located in the heart of Mookdaharn province. It is the popular morning market in Mookdaharn. If the tourists have any chance to visit this market, they will get to taste the local food such as rice paste, paste of rice flour, boiled rice, white pork sausage and etc. Moreover, the tourists can experience the culture and tradition of the Vietnamese people closely. There are also many restaurants that serve Vietnamese food. Most of the owners are the third generation in their family. However, the taste is still preserved as it used to be from the ancestor. After lunch, we are going to Indochina market is located at Sriboonruangsuubdistrict, Muang district, Mukdahan province, it is in front of Sri Mongkol Tai temple, there is a center where you can find imported products from every country such as Russia, China, Vietnam and Laos. The products are sold in wholesale and retail prices. Most of the products are clothes, ceramics, electricity devices and consumer goods. Then leaving for Sakonakorn province and drop off at your hotel.

Day 11: Sakon Nakorn – Nakorn Phranom (B/L)

After breakfast, this morning, after breakfast, we will go to the local market to see the life of locals and works. Then after that, we are visiting to Phu Phan Ratchaniwet Palace

Phu Phan Ratchanivet Palace is situated in the heart of Phu Phan mountain ranges, Phu Phan district, Sakon Nakhon province or about 16 kilometers from Sakon Nakhon downtown. The palace serves as the royal residence of Their Majesties the King and Queen, as well as other royal family members during their visits to Northeast Thailand. None Hom is a subdistrict in Mueang district, Sakon Nakhon province. It was founded in 1882 after Mr. Hom leaded villagers to settle down in this area. The immigrants in Ban None Hom belongs to the minor ethnic group called “Phu Thai” who managed to maintain their culture and lifestyle. Therefore, Ban None Hom serves as a venue to perform Phu Thai traditional ceremonies. And then visit to The (Roman CatholicArchdiocese of Thare and Nonseng, Tha Rae Village (Catholic Community). Tha Rae village is best known for having the largest amount of population who are Christians in Thailand. And followed by Phra Archan Man Phurithatto Museum This museum, dedicated to venerated monk PhraAcharn Man, is located in Wat Pa Sutthawat, a temple located in SakonNakhon town. On display are a wax figure of the famous monk, his personal belongings, and exhibits on his life story and teachings. Lunch will be stopping at a local restaurant. After lunch, we’re driving up to Phra That Phanom, where the most important Buddhist site in the province, Phra That Phanom features a 53-meter-tall, square-shaped pagoda, which is a Laotian-influenced shape of numerous pagodas found around the area. It is believed that Phra That Phanom was originally built before the 12th Buddhist century, but it entirely collapsed on August 11, 1975 after several days of rainstorm. The current pagoda was later build according to the former design by local donations. Shine underneath the sun atop the pagoda is a 110-kilogram solid gold spire. Later on, drive straight to Nakorn Phranom downtown. Drop off at hotel and check in and then relax on your own time afterwards.

Day 12: Nakorn Phranom – Buengkan (B/L)

After breakfast, this morning, before our breakfast, we’ll visit walk to the local market in the early morning to do Tak Bat (offering foods to monks) from the street. Then back to hotel for breakfast. After breakfast, we will visit Juan Pooh Wah Changwad Nakornpathom museum (Nakornpathom’s provincial governor’s official residence museum)

Adulyadejsiammaysuanpakdeepiriyapaha (Aui Nakorntup), lieutenant governor of Udornthani monthon and the first governor of Nakhonpanom province. The building was constructed between 1912 – 1914 by a Vietnamese builder. Both the upper and lower storeys have no support column as the structure was built using wood joinery technique. Juan Pooh Wah museum is a prominent example of architecture in Nakornpanom. It exhibits fine western architectural style as the design was influenced by French architecture during Indochina wars. And then drive to see the 3rd Thailand – Laos Friendship bridge. After that followed by Bann Na Jok (Uncle Ho’s House) Bann Na Jok (aka. Uncle Ho’s House or Ho Chi Minh’s House) is another tourist attraction and historical place. This place is an old village where the former president of Socialist Republic of Vietnam used to live before. Next is continuing driving along the rim of Maekhong River to visit Chedsi Waterfall situated in Ban Don Siat, Tambon Ban Tong, Amphoe Seka, this waterfall comes from a stream of Huai Ka-am and flows along a high sandstone cliff spreading over a long line. The fall of the water causes a spray of water which when seen in sunlight looks like a rainbow, hence the name Namtok Chet Si or the waterfall of seven colors. You can enjoy your time to do trekking into the waterfalls or maybe a pickup of the forest office. After the Chedsi waterfall, we are visiting to Phutok, rooting from Isan dialect meaning isolated mountain, this sandstone range can be seen from a distance. Consisting of two hills, Phu Tok Yai and Phu Thok Noi, the area is dense with woods and wild life animals. With its tranquil setting, Phra Achan Chuan Kunlachettho, a meditation master, established a meditation place here. Phu Tok Noi also takes on Wat Chetiya Khiri Wihan, a starting point of a walk up to Phu Tok via wooden bridge through the mountains. The bridge is compared to a path of virtue that leads men to their own emancipation. The bridge’s stairs are divided into seven sections with caves and rest areas along the way. To the north, a mountainous view of Phu Tok Yai can be seen. After that, we are driving ahead to Buengkan downtown (the 77th newest province of Thailand). Drop off at your hotel.

Day 13: Buengkan – Udornthani (B/L)

After breakfast, we’re driving down to Udornthani province and stop for visiting at Baan Chiang National Museum is considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in Southeast Asia and was registered as a World Heritage Site in 1992. Excavations at a large, oval mound at the site uncovered pre-historic artifacts, especially pottery and bronze implements. Since the discovery of the site in 1966, the dating of Ban Chiang artifacts has been adjusted and refined over time in line with advances in the understanding and techniques of radiometric dating. This research has revealed that the site dates to as early as 3,500 years ago and that the site was continuously occupied for at least 2,000 years.  The discoveries at the site, from both Neolithic and Bronze Age civilizations, have shown it has long been a habitation and burial site. After Baan Chiang, we are driving to visit the Red Lotus Sea This spectacular site is home to millions of lotus flowers and appropriately named the Red Lotus Sea, or Talay Bua Daeng. And then, we are driving ahead to Udornthani downtown for having lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, we will visit Udon Sunshine Orchid Farm where garden is a nursery dedicated to Udon Sunshine, a cross between the Vanda and the Josephine Van Berrow orchids. The species, registered with the United Kingdom’s World Orchid Society in 1988, is known for its lovely scent. It is one of the few orchids used to make perfume, branded for sale with its species name. And then transfer to your hotel and relax on your own time afterwards.

Day 14: Udornthani – Nongkhai (B/L)

After breakfast, this early morning, we will visit explore the Udornthani Dhesaban morning market. You will see the busy life of locals bring local died and fresh foods for selling and the local costs here cheap. After walking in the market, we will take you to eat the famous local dish as Khai Kata or fried eggs mixed pork in the tray and serving with local French bakes. After breakfast, then we will walk back to hotel and check out and leaving for Nongkhai province. En route stop at Baan Nahee Handicraft Village at Nisachol weaving house. And continue to Sala Kaew Ku (also Keoku) sculpture park quirky or just plain bizarre, there’s no denying that it’s Nong Khai’s only “can’t-miss” attraction. The park’s countless dazzling sculptures were the life’s work of Boun Leua Sulilat, a Lao man who spent much of his early life absorbing mystical knowledge from an ascetic hermit named Kaew Ku, who lived in a cave in Laos. Sala Kaew Ku is Sulilat’s impressive attempt to bring this knowledge to life. While the striking depictions draw from a wide range of ancient beliefs, including animist folklore, Hindu mythology and Buddhist traditionalism, the execution is all Sulilat .And then driving up to Nong Khai downtown, and stop at

Nongkhai Governor’s Residence Museum which is located in the west of the town. This beautiful French colonial building that was once the Governor’s Residence. It was built in 1929 for the provincial commissioner, Yiam Patumthewaphiban and it was last used by the 37th Governor, Suphut Lawansiri who lived here as recently as 2007. The king and queen have visited here for lunch on three occasions. The building features some nice wooden louvers and wooden furniture and is full of photos of previous governors. Later, stop for lunch Daeng Naemniang Nongkhai famous local restaurant. After lunch, we are getting on the boat sightseeing along the Maekhong River and cruising to see beautiful views of Thailand and Laos river banks and will pass the 1st Thailand-Laos friendship bridge. And visit Indochina Market and Thasadet we you will see Laos border Then back to the port and drive to hotel and check in and relax on your own time afterwards.

Day 15: Nongkhai – Loei (Chiangkan) (B/L)

After breakfast, check out and get on the car and driving along parallel the rim of Maekhong River and stop at the scenic spot for taking some photos of the beautiful views of locals and the Maekhong River. Until getting to Srichiangmai district, we will drive into the areas of the outskirt of Udornthani province to visit Phu Phrabat Historical Park

Situated in Ban Phue District, this archeological site features a large number of ancient ruins and objects dating from prehistory. They are mostly from the Dvaravati, Lop Buri, and Lan Xang periods. The site is located in a lush forest called Pa Khua Nam. Within are many rocks of peculiar shapes, the result of a slow-moving glacier millions of years ago. Many of the ruins and objects found in the area were made from the materials found locally, and were not built entirely by hand – for instance, a rock decorated as a stupa, or chiseled into the shape of a foot. Pre-historic cave paintings, sandstone images and idols, and more are interesting sights to behold. The site was declared a historical park by the Fine Arts Department in 1991. We will have some lunch at the historical park’s restaurant and then after lunch, we will continue to visit Wat Pa Pukon, Udornthani to see the beauty of the white large reclining Buddha image keeps in the temple on the top of mountain.

Later, we will continue to visit Arabica and coffee cultivated farms at Vilai’s farm in Baan Pherm where you can taste of some coffee, soup coffees and drip-bag coffees. Besides, you will see banana gardens and rubber trees to see how the locals growing and collecting. And then continue drives to Chiangkan, Loei province.

Day 16: Chiangkan (Loei) – Khao Khor (Petchabun) (B/L)

After breakfast, this morning, we are going to do Tak Bat (offering foods to monks) and sit a coffee shop to sip and get the fresh air of the Maekhong River as for the local knows that Chiang Khan is a lovely small town with restaurants, coffee and souvenir shops. Besides, it is the city is twin to Luang Prabang, Laos. There are more traditional and cultures to be explored by you. After check out and we will drive ahead to visit Phu Ruea National Park, located in Loei, one of the coolest provinces of Thailand. It is rugged mountain range and also the headwater of many rivers of Loei. Phu Ruea is the highest peak of 1,365m above sea level. At the top, it is viewpoint that you can panoramically see Hueang and Khong Rivers. More than half of the top of Phu Ruea is covered with low shrubbery, grasslands and strangely formed rock formations. Due to the cool climate the area is rich in orchid species which flower throughout the year. Pha Lon Noi is good point to see the sun rise. Phuruea has many kinds of plants and wild lives such as wild roses, moss, fern, wild orchid, bear, barking deer, boar, hyena, monkey, squirrel, wild fowl, rabbit, turtle, as well as birds and colorful winter flowers, such as petunia and Christmas trees, at this nursery for plants and flowers. And then after that, driving further to Phra That Si Song Rak This Lao-style white pagoda was built as a symbol of a mutual friendship between the kings of Ayutthaya and Sri Sattana Khanahut (Vientiane) who were alliance against in the invasion of an ancient Burmese troop in circa 1560. It is a famous religious venue for couples to pray for everlasting love. Red flowers and red attires are prohibited in the temple. Lunch will be stopped and ate in a local restaurant. After lunch, leave for Ban Thap Boek see the beautiful view and visiting to a Hmong hill tribe village called Ban Thap Boek. The area lies 1,768 meters above sea level and is often referred to as the highest point in Phetchabun province. Mountainous terrain and high altitudes guarantee year-round cool weather for visitors. And then drive to Lomsak district. Check in hotel and relax on your own time afterwards.

Day 17: Lomsak (Petchabun) – Nam Nao National Park (Petchabun) (B/L)

After breakfast and leave for Agro-tourism in Nam Nao District. There are agro-tourism places for tourists to enjoy in Nam Nao, for example, Suan Nam Nao”, which has various flowers such as sterling rose, chrysanthemum and amaryllis. These interesting gardens not only produce high-quality plants and have learning centres, but also process products such as Thai blueberry wine and lychee wine. Then continue drive to The Nam Nao National Park is an immense tract of forest which has remained mostly untouched. Its pine forests, grasslands and virgin jungles are home to a large number of animals and more than 100 species of birds. Between December and January, temperatures drop to as low as 2-5 degrees Celsius. Lunch at a local restaurant and after lunch, drive to Rai B.N. Fresh fruits and vegetables direct from fields and orchards are on offer at this farm, also known as “Rai B.N.”, with availability varying according to the season. Visitors can buy broccoli, iceberg lettuce and eggplant, as well as strawberries, lychees, macadamia nuts and more. Also on offer are preserved fruits and vegetables, often baked, candied or made into jams. Decorative plants and flowers, such as Bird of Paradise, torch ginger, and those in the Heliconia family are also available. Visitors can explore the vegetable plots and plant growing and take a walk around the farm. And then drive downward to Khao Khor and drop off at hotel. Check in and relax on your own time.

Day 18: Khao Khor (Petchabun) – Si Thep (Petchabun) (B/L)

After breakfast, visiting to Khao Kho Royal Palace is situated on Khao Ya, Tambol Sadohpong, Amphur Khao Kho and is 1,100 meters high from the mean sea level. It is the King and the Queen’s accommodation during their visit to Amphur Khao Kho or nearby. And continue to Chao Doi Travel Village is located at Mu 9, Khao Kho sub-district, Khao Kho district, Phetchabun province. It is another tourist site of Khao Kho, where a large number of Hmong people live. In the past, Hmong people preferred to grow a lot of opium. However, the government authority launched a campaign to encourage people to stop growing opium and switch to other agricultural occupations. Currently, Hmong hill tribes plant maize and upland rice, including processed bamboo products, all of which generate an income to communities. After entering the village, tourists will notice houses and livelihood of Hmong people as well as their costumes woven by themselves, including livestock and wooden mortars for pounding rice in the village. Hmong villages are usually on highland or hillsides, easily built of natural materials to protect them from rainfall. There is also an area for adolescents to play the Hmong ball tossing game during the Hmong New Year celebration. Stop for having some lunch at a local restaurant. After lunch, drive straight to Baan Kru mineral spring is located at Tambol Pukam, Amphur Vichienburi. It is the natural mineral spring with water all year and does not have any smell of sulphur. It was found in 2006 during the water excavation. The digger dug for 42 meters and found the hot water at 48 degrees celcius. After analysing, it was found to provide nutrients for the body. Therefore, it was opened as a mineral spring center. The name of this mineral spring came from the owner’s name who is a teacher in the village. And next, if you are tiring, then we will visit Ban Phu Toei Hot Spring Park, this natural spring, its hot water bubbling to the surface, is a relaxing venue for the health-conscious. The area has been developed into a health tourism spot and spa services are available daily. These include mineral water bathing, massages for the feet and the body, and other spa treatments. The end destination place for today is visiting to Si Thep Historical Park contains the ruins of ancient Phetchabun, encompassing Si Thep Ancient Town, originally called Mueang Aphai Sali. It is believed to have been built during the boom years of the ancient Khmer empire, no less than 1,000 years old. The historic town is surrounded by a moat and a mound; inside, ponds and swamps dot the compound. After that, drive to hotel. Check in and relax on your own time afterwards.

Overnight in Si Thep, Petchabun province

Day 19: Si Thep (Petchabun) – Chaiyaphumi (B/L)

After breakfast, check out and drive to Chaiyaphumi province and visit Pa Hin Ngam National Park is dotted with large rocks of unusual shapes, some, for instance, resembling a nail, a serpent head or an ancient castle. During the early part of the rainy season in July, Dok Krachiao or Siam Tulips (a type of jungle flower with an underground bulb, related to ginger) sprout cheery pink blooms all over the area. With winter, orchids emerge from cracks in rocks, alongside numerous wild flowers. After that, drive into the downtown of Chaiyaphum and make a stop at Ban Khae Topiary Centre, many species and sizes of beautifully manicured plants are on sale on both sides of Highway No. 201 near Ban Khae. Locals many years ago took up the art of topiary and have become renowned for their expertise. Amongst the plants are Khoi (Siamese Rough Bush) and Tako, offered at reasonable prices as garden decoration. Another stop for lunch at a local restaurant before continued our trip to Tat Ton National Park covers some parts of Phu Laen Kha mountain range. There are several beautiful waterfalls, but its namesake waterfall Namtok Tat Ton is the best. The water here cascades down wide rock plateaus, part of a breathtaking view, especially in the rainy season when there is plenty of water. In addition, Chaopho Tat Ton (Pu Duang) Shrine, honoring an ethnic Khmer holy man, is widely visited by locals who come to pay respect to the site four times a year. The park is also home to Pha Lang waterfall, which is 32 kilometers from the city on the Chaiyaphum-Nong Bua Daeng road, and Tat Fa waterfall, which is 25 kilometers from the city on the Chaiyaphum-Kaeng Khro road. Now enjoy your time for swimming and watching the nature and taking some photos before we are returning back to Chaiyabhum downtown for overnight.

Day 20: Chaiyaphum – Bangkok (B/L)

After breakfast, relax and check out then get on our car returning back to Bangkok. En route will be stopped at a local restaurant in Lamtraklong Dam, after lunch, you will be driven ahead to Bangkok. Drop off at hotel or Bangkok Airport for your flight to next destinations.
